Deputy Minister warns of fraudster impersonating him to solicit money

Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe has issued a public warning over a fraudulent individual impersonating him and requesting money from the public.

In a public notice, the deputy minister said complaints have been received about a person falsely claiming to represent him and seeking financial assistance and personal information. He urged the public not to share money or sensitive personal details with unknown individuals.

The deputy minister also called on the public to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police or relevant authorities to prevent further incidents.

Officials urged the public to remain vigilant and share the warning to protect others from potential scams. (Newswire)
