The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that if a constructive intervention is not made to address the issues faced by doctors in relation to the ongoing trade union action, the union will intensify its measures after 48 hours.
The Central Committee of the GMOA met today (28), during which full authority was granted to the Executive Committee to decide on future action.
Several decisions were reached at today’s meeting, including a decision to continue the ongoing trade union action without interruption.
“We are giving the Health Minister 48 hours to intervene. We want to make it clear that the Health Minister should not later complain that the GMOA did not give enough time or that we are engaging in trade union action suddenly,” Assistant Secretary of the GMOA Dr. Hansamal Weerasuriya said.
