The Election Commission has invited applications from political parties eligible for recognition in 2026. Applications can be submitted from 28 January to 28 February 2026, along with required documents signed by the party secretary.
Forms are available via the Election Commission website, district election offices, or the Election Secretary’s office. Approved parties must specify their allocated symbol as per Gazette notifications.
Supporting documents must include the party constitution, office bearer list, female office bearers over the past four years, audited accounts, current policy statement, and proof of continuous operation over the last four years.
Completed applications must be submitted by 3:00 pm on 28 February 2026, either by post or hand-delivered, marked “Application for Recognition of Political Party – 2026”. Late submissions will not be considered. (NewsWire)
