Inflation in Colombo rose to 2.3% in January, up from 2.1% in December, according to data released by the Department of Census and Statistics(DCS).
The increase was measured year on year by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI).
Year-on-year inflation in the food category rose to 3.3% in January from 3.0% in December, the department said.
Inflation in the non-food category was unchanged at 1.8%, remaining at the same level recorded a month earlier. (NewsWire)
