Popular actor Hemal Ranasinghe has been arrested by Police over an alleged assault.
According to Police, the incident took place on Jan. 8, 2026 at Havelock City.
Ranasinghe had reportedly been notified on multiple occasions to appear before Police regarding the complaint, but had failed to do so.
Ranasinghe had surrendered to the Wellawatte Police this morning, following which he was taken into custody.
The actor is due to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Court, Police said. (Newswire)
