Actor Hemal Ranasinghe was released on a personal bail of Rs. 100,000 today after being produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
The popular actor was arrested earlier today in connection with an alleged assault, Police said.
Ranasinghe surrendered to the Wellawatte Police this morning over an incident of assault reported on January 8, 2026, at Havelock City.
Police said the actor had failed to respond to several previous summons issued over the complaint. (Newswire)
