Construction work of the Mahaiyawa underpass in Kandy commenced today, the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development said.
The Rs. 699.59 million project involves the construction of a concrete underpass bridge beneath the railway line on the Kandy–Jaffna road at Mahaiyawa.
The proposal submitted by the Minister of Transport was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in January. (Newswire)
