The tournament will be held from February 7 to March 8, with matches in Sri Lanka scheduled at the R. Premadasa Stadium and the Sinhalese Sports Club Stadium, with Colombo serving as the central host city.

Police said traffic restrictions will be imposed on several roads surrounding the R. Premadasa Stadium on match days, depending on traffic flow and crowd movement. Entry towards the stadium will be restricted from multiple access points including Babapulle, Sebastian Ela Road via Melwatte Bridge, Temple Road, Maligawatte Lane, and Saddharma Mawatha.

Special traffic arrangements will be enforced on February 8, 15, and 19, when Sri Lanka vs Ireland, India vs Pakistan, and Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe matches are scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium. On these days, dedicated shuttle services will operate from the Old MOD Car Park and Port City Car Park, while parking will be limited to the R. Premadasa Stadium Car Park and Mati Park Car Park under the Grandpass Police Division.

For other match days at the R. Premadasa Stadium on February 11, 13, 21, 25, and 27, parking will be permitted at designated locations including Grandpass Mati Park, Sathosa Car Park, Sebastian Ela Car Park, Kovila Road, Apple Watta, and along both sides of Adi 100 Para.

Traffic movement will also be restricted around the SSC Stadium on February 7, 9, 10, 14, and 18. Restrictions will apply along Maitland Place, Vidya Mawatha, and surrounding junctions. Parking for SSC matches has been arranged at several locations including the SSC Stadium Car Park, Colombo Municipal Council Car Park at Nidahas Mawatha, Sri Lanka Foundation Mawatha, CR & FC Grounds, Rupavahini Corporation premises, and the BMICH.

Police said a total of 1,500 police officers and 600 traffic police officers will be deployed to ensure the safety and security of both local and foreign spectators throughout the tournament.

The public has also been reminded that spectators are strictly prohibited from bringing large bags, glass bottles, drones, sharp objects, drugs, or alcoholic beverages into stadium premises. Intelligence officers and police officers in civilian attire will be deployed in and around the venues as part of enhanced security arrangements.

The Police Media Division urged the public to cooperate with authorities and plan their travel in advance on match days to avoid inconvenience. (Newswire)
