The Government of Canada has warned of visa scams targeting the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Canadian Government has announced that no special visa called a “FIFA Visa” or any special tourist visa will be issued for the 2026 World Cup.
Furthermore, the tourist visas that are issued cannot be used for employment or permanent residence in Canada, it further warned.
The Canadian Government states that if you want to come to Canada to attend a FIFA World Cup 2026 match as a fan, you will be entering Canada as a tourist.
There’s no special FIFA World Cup 2026 visa, but you may need either of the following to enter Canada: a visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA).
The public is further warned to beware of immigration agents who promise entry to Canada for the FIFA World Cup 2026, stating that no one can guarantee a visa or an eTA.
“You’re responsible for all the information in your application, even if a representative completes it for you. Make sure all your documents are accurate, or you could risk a 5-year ban,” the Canadian Government announced.
