Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa has urged the government to address the demands of doctors and other professionals, stressing that public welfare should take priority over luxury expenditures.

Speaking to journalists, Namal Rajapaksa criticized the government for providing vehicles to officials on loan while neglecting the needs of patients in state hospitals.

He said it is shameful that equipment belonging to the tri-forces and police is showcased for loans, yet spending on luxury vehicles is not questioned.

MP Rajapaksa called on the government to redirect such funds to improve healthcare facilities and respond to the reasonable requests of medical professionals, noting that ordinary citizens continue to suffer in public hospitals. (Newswire)
