Cabinet Spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa has announced changes would be made to several top positions in state institutions.

Addressing the post-Cabinet media briefing yesterday, he said the government is currently discussing which officials should be replaced.

“The government intends to make changes in the coming days to a number of positions, including chairpersons and heads of boards of directors of state institutions. Discussions are ongoing regarding the names. You will be informed which institutions and officials are involved. There is no need to be anxious; we will announce the changes soon.

“When a government functions, changes are made in institutions. Some officials request transfers for personal reasons or to take on other responsibilities. In some cases, we also consider that changes would be beneficial. All these factors are taken into account when making such decisions. The public will be informed in due course,” Minister Nalinda Jayatissa explained. (Newswire)
