The Ministry of Public Security has requested passport applicants not to visit the Department of Immigration and Emigration head office in Battaramulla or any of its regional offices tomorrow, as a computer system breakdown has not yet been restored.
In a statement, the Ministry said normal services are expected to resume on Monday, 16 February.
Authorities also noted that priority will be given to applicants who had appointments or visited the department today but were unable to complete their applications due to the technical issue.
The Ministry urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel to immigration offices until services return to normal operations. (Newswire)
