The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for severe lightning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.
The advisory, issued at noon today (13), is in effect until 11 p.m.
Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely at some locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces. Temporary localized strong winds may occur during thundershowers.
The public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
