Admiral Steve “Web” Koehler, Commander of the US Pacific Fleet, arrived in Sri Lanka for an official visit scheduled from Feb. 19 to 21, 2026.

During the visit, Admiral Koehler is expected to meet with Sri Lankan government officials and military counterparts to discuss cooperation in maritime security and regional stability, as well as efforts to enhance collaboration and interoperability between the two countries.

The US Pacific Fleet, the largest naval fleet command in the world, operates across the Indo-Pacific region, safeguarding sea lanes and working with regional partners.

This marks Admiral Koehler’s second visit to Sri Lanka, reflecting the strategic significance the United States places on Sri Lanka’s location along key global maritime routes, the United States Embassy in Colombo said in a statement.

The visit is also expected to reaffirm the security partnership between the United States and Sri Lanka, with discussions focused on maritime domain awareness, countering transnational threats and strengthening long-term cooperation in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific, the statement said.
