Former Police Inspector Jagath Nishantha, who was wanted in connection with the shooting incident near a prominent hotel in Weligama in 2023, has been arrested.
Following the incident, he had been overseas and was taken into custody yesterday (23 Feb) upon arriving back in the country.
The shooting, which occurred on December 31, 2023, claimed the life of a Police officer.
Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon was also accused in relation to the incident. (Newswire)
