The Sri Lanka Police has announced that special security and preventive measures will be implemented following the conclusion of the 2026 General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (G.C.E. O/L) Examination, which ends today (26 Feb).

Police said that based on incidents reported in previous years, there is a tendency for certain students to become involved in violent or disorderly behaviour after the examination.

To prevent such situations, arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of students, the general public, and public property.

Accordingly, the Police requested parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities and conduct of their children during this period and to take all necessary steps to discourage any behaviour that may lead to violence or public disturbance.

The Police emphasized that the cooperation of parents, educational authorities, and the public is essential in maintaining peace, discipline, and public order. (Newswire)
