Social media activist SEDA Bro reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today (03 Mar) to record a statement with regard to an ongoing investigation.

Speaking to reporters outside the CID, SEDA Bro said he was summoned to record a statement and has been instructed by the CID not to reveal the cause, as it could affect the ongoing investigation.

“I knew earlier that I would have to report to the CID. I did not think they would make a dumb move like this. I think the government will face a challenge in the future for the timing and circumstances of the summons. We urge the government not to attempt to suppress digital content creators. This could lead to a big problem. A government that came to power through social media must think before acting against social media, as it is a community,” he said.

SEDA Bro further warned that the government will face its most crucial 72 hours in the history of the country, the day it makes a move against social media activists. (Newswire)
