The Chilaw High Court on Friday (6) sentenced a man to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of possessing and trafficking heroin.
High Court Judge Nayomi Wickramasekara imposed the sentence after the court found the accused guilty of possessing and trafficking 35.474 grams of heroin.
According to court records, police arrested the accused on Oct. 11, 2020, in the Kirimatiyana Watta area within the Chilaw court jurisdiction. Police said the heroin was found in his possession at the time of the arrest.
The Attorney General had filed four indictments against the accused related to the possession and trafficking of the narcotic. (NewsWire)
