
The Supreme Court today (11) concluded hearings on the appeals filed by former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and former Lanka Sathosa Chairman Nalin Fernando, who were sentenced to imprisonment over a corruption charge.
A five‑judge bench headed by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena heard the petitions, marking the third day of proceedings.
During the session, submissions from both the appellants’ lawyers and the legal representatives of the Bribery Commission were completed.
Following the conclusion of arguments, the Supreme Court announced that the delivery of its judgment on the appeals has been postponed to a later date. (Newswire)
