A complaint has been filed against Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya alleging disrespect to the national flag during celebrations following India’s T20 World Cup victory.
According to Indian media reports, a lawyer in Pune lodged the complaint claiming Pandya was seen lying down on a stage with the Indian national flag tied around his back during post-match celebrations.
The complainant has alleged that the act amounts to disrespect under India’s Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, which governs the use and display of the national flag.
Reports said the complaint has been submitted to local police, requesting an investigation into the incident.
However, no official case or charges have been confirmed against the cricketer so far, and authorities have yet to announce whether further action will be taken. (Newswire)
