A 48-year-old man has been arrested in the Weliwita area in Kaduwela with two firearms and a stock of ammunition, Police said.
The arrest was made by officers attached to the Crime Intelligence Unit of the Colombo South Crimes Division following a tip-off.
Police recovered a BSA rifle, a double-barrel 12-bore shotgun, 15 shotgun cartridges, two 0.22mm rounds with a magazine, and 50 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition during the raid.
