Technical issues affecting the National Fuel Pass are expected to be resolved by Tuesday (17) morning, the Ministry of Digital Economy said.

The ministry said system upgrades are currently underway to facilitate new registrations, particularly for vehicles whose ownership was legally transferred through the Department of Motor Traffic after August 2023, which require a new QR code to access the fuel pass system.

The ministry also informed that updates are being made to the system to incorporate information provided by mobile service providers in cases where the phone number linked to a QR code has changed ownership or the connection has been disconnected.

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation urged the public to avoid accessing fraudulent links circulating online when registering for the fuel pass and warned against sharing personal information through such platforms.

Authorities advised the public to use only official government systems for fuel pass registration and to contact the government information hotline 1919 for assistance regarding any related issues. (NewsWire)
