
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to award the contract for constructing a 28‑kilometre, 220kV double‑circuit transmission line from the Mannar Grid Substation to the Mullikulam Collector Grid Substation under Lot 0 of the Mullikulam Wind Power Transmission Project.
Formal procurement approval was granted at the Cabinet meeting held on February 3, 2025, and five bids were received through the international competitive bidding process.
Following an evaluation, the High‑Level Standing Procurement Committee recommended awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, JLS & Fentons Joint Venture, comprising Jyoti Structure Limited of India and Hayleys Fentons Limited of Sri Lanka.
The contract, valued at Rs. 2,269.18 million (tax‑free), was presented by the Minister of Power and has now been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. (Newswire)
