Israel said on Wednesday that an airstrike targeted Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, as hostilities between the two regional foes continued to escalate.
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz claimed that the key Iranian minister and other senior ministry figures were killed in the overnight attack.
If the claim is confirmed, it would be the third major high-profile assassination of Iranian leaders in two days.
