Police have arrested a motorcyclist involved in an incident at the Kuliyapitiya Meegahakotuwa junction, where he allegedly assaulted another rider with a helmet before fleeing the scene.
According to the Kuliyapitiya Police OIC, the arrest was made based on CCTV footage.
He added that no formal complaint had been lodged regarding the assault prior to the arrest.
The footage reportedly shows the man arriving from the Kuliyapitiya–Pannala road and striking another rider travelling from Kuliyapitiya along the Madampe main road.
