Tamil Progressive Alliance Leader MP Mano Ganesan has cautioned that while the President claims to be dismantling monopoly cartels in gas, fuel, and medicine procurement, new cartels are already emerging within the government.
MP Ganesan said, during the party leaders’ meeting yesterday, he praised President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for efforts to break up entrenched monopolies but warned that well‑connected corporate allies are now operating under different guises.
“These aren’t old players. Replace one cartel with another, and nothing changes,” he said in a post on ‘X’. (Newswire)
