Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Nuwara-Eliya districts after 2.00 pm today.
According to the Department of Meteorology, mainly dry weather will prevail over the other parts of the island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts in the morning.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Hambantota via Galle.
Winds will be North-easterly or variable in direction. Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.
The sea areas around the island will be slight. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (Newswire)
