Two men have been sentenced to death by the Monaragala High Court over the killing of five people, including a 13-year-old girl, in Thanamalvila in 2002.
The incident occurred on June 6, 2002, in the Kithulkote area of Thanamalvila, where a group of individuals were shot dead using T-56 firearms and a 12-bore shotgun.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducted investigations into the incident, following which the case was taken up before the Monaragala High Court.
The court imposed the death sentence after charges were proven against the two accused. (NewsWire)
