Malaysia’s Batik Air launches operations to Sri Lanka

Malaysian carrier Batik Air’s inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur touched down at the Katunayake Airport early this morning (30).

Flight OD‑297, operated by a Boeing 737, arrived at 1:10 am carrying 62 passengers and four crew members. 

The aircraft later departed Katunayake at 2:05 am with 160 passengers bound for Kuala Lumpur.

The service, with a flying time of about three hours, will operate four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, between Kuala Lumpur and Katunayake.

Marking the occasion, Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Bedli Hisham Sin Adam, along with other distinguished guests, were present at Katunayake Airport to welcome the inaugural flight. (Newswire)
