Fuel prices in the United Arab Emirates have been sharply increased for April 2026, with diesel recording a particularly steep rise.

According to the UAE Fuel Price Committee, the new prices effective from April 1 are:

  • Super 98 petrol: 3.39 dirhams per litre (up from 2.59) — approximately Rs. 285 per litre
  • Special 95 petrol: 3.28 dirhams per litre (up from 2.48) — approximately Rs. 276 per litre
  • E-Plus 91 petrol: 3.20 dirhams per litre (up from 2.40) — approximately Rs. 269 per litre
  • Diesel: 4.69 dirhams per litre (up from 2.72) — approximately Rs. 395 per litre

The increases amount to around 0.80 dirhams per litre for petrol and nearly 1.97 dirhams for diesel, marking one of the sharpest monthly fuel price hikes in recent years.

The revision comes amid rising global oil prices and escalating Middle East tensions, with analysts warning that transport and business costs across the UAE are likely to increase as a result. (Newswire)
