Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that the country was targeted by three cruise missiles launched from Iran on Wednesday, with two successfully intercepted by Qatari armed forces.
According to the Ministry, the third missile struck an oil tanker leased to QatarEnergy in Qatar’s economic waters.
Authorities said immediate action was taken to coordinate evacuation efforts, with all 21 crew members on board the tanker safely evacuated without any casualties.
The Ministry stated that the armed forces had responded swiftly to the incident and that relevant authorities were continuing coordination efforts following the strike.
No further damage or injuries were reported, officials said. (Newswire)
