The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka has announced new requirements for non-immigrant visa applicants, effective immediately.

According to the Embassy, applicants seeking A‑3, C‑3 (if a domestic worker), G‑5, H‑3 and their H‑4 dependents, K‑1, K‑2, K‑3, Q, R‑1, R‑2, S, T, and U visas must adjust the privacy settings on all of their social media profiles to “public.”

The Embassy further noted that H‑1B applicants and their dependents, as well as F, M, and J visa applicants, remain subject to this review.

The U.S. Embassy explains that the measure is intended to facilitate vetting necessary to establish applicants’ identity and admissibility to the United States. (Newswire)
