Journalist Bhakthi Dharmapriya Mendis, who was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of the Colombo National Hospital after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident, has passed away.
He was 47 years old at the time of his death.
Bhakthi Dharmapriya Mendis began his journalism career in 2000 as a founding editorial staff member of the Lakbima daily newspaper. He later served at Dinamina and Rivira newspapers during his career.
Born in Galle, he was an old boy of Richmond College, Galle.
His remains will lie at his residence located at Mahagedara Watta, Boossa, Galle, from today (04) afternoon.
The final rites are scheduled to be held on Monday (06). (Newswire)
