The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has urged the public to protect the newly renovated Central Bus Stand (CBS), calling on commuters to help maintain cleanliness and safeguard public property.

In a statement, the SLTB noted that the Central Bus Stand was renovated following several days of intensive work and significant expenditure, with the aim of improving convenience and providing a better travel experience for the public.

However, the SLTB expressed concern over incidents of misuse and littering reported at the newly renovated premises by certain individuals.

The SLTB requested the public to dispose of waste responsibly using designated bins and to help maintain cleanliness within the bus stand premises. Commuters were also urged to avoid damaging seats, walls, and other facilities provided for public use.

The Transport Board further reminded the public that the Central Bus Stand is a national asset that should be preserved for future generations, urging commuters to act responsibly and help protect the facility.

The SLTB called on passengers to support efforts to maintain discipline and safeguard public property at the Central Bus Stand. (Newswire)
