Train services on the Northern Railway Line resumed on Thursday (09) following the completion of restoration work on cyclone-damaged sections.

The repairs were carried out with support from the Government of India under a USD 5 million grant, part of a broader USD 450 million assistance package.

The restoration was completed ahead of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, enabling the resumption of a key transport link and improving connectivity in affected areas. (Newswire)
