The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has commenced an investigation into coal imports since 2009, following a complaint lodged by the Presidential Secretary today.
Lanka Coal Company (Pvt) Ltd confirmed that special police protection was provided to its office this afternoon after the investigation began.
Several media institutions have reported that the office has been sealed, however, there has been no official confirmation of this so far. (Newswire)
