A foreign woman was taken into custody following an incident of disorderly conduct reported in Mount Lavinia last night.
According to video footage recorded by bystanders, the woman — believed to be under the influence — became aggressive and allegedly assaulted several individuals, including men, women, and youths in the area.
The video also shows the woman assaulting a police officer who attempted to restrain her.
Bystanders, family members, and responding police officers were seen trying to control the situation, but she remained uncontrollable for nearly 30 minutes before the situation was brought under control.
The footage further shows police officers eventually taking the woman into custody.
