Three people have died after drowning in the Deduru Oya in the Kobeygane area.
The victims were among a group of around 10 individuals who had gone to bathe in the river on Thursday (16).
Police said two others who were rescued have been admitted to the hospital, while several persons are reported missing.
Search operations are underway to locate those unaccounted for, Police said. (Newswire)
