A complaint has been lodged with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) calling for an investigation into the assets and liabilities of Minister K. D. Lal Kantha.
The complaint was filed on Friday (17) by Chamal Sanjeewa, president of the Medical and Civil Rights Professional Association of Doctors (MCPA).
It relates to the minister’s assets declaration submitted on December 26 last year for the years 2024 and 2025, which has recently drawn attention on social media.
The complainant alleged discrepancies between the declaration, which indicates ownership of immovable assets valued at over Rs. 6.7 crore, and previous public statements by the minister regarding financial difficulties.
He called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter, citing concerns raised in the public domain. (Newswire)
