A third person who was receiving treatment in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the fire at a two-storey house in Maharagama has died.
Police said the deceased is the owner of the house. With this, the death toll from the arson attack has risen to three.
Police further stated that investigations have revealed that the fire was allegedly set by the house owner himself. The incident had previously resulted in the deaths of a 55-year-old mother and her 16-year-old daughter, while two others were hospitalised with serious burn injuries. (NewsWire)
