Nine suspects have been arrested over the assault of a woman in Gokarella, following the circulation of a video of the incident on social media.
The incident occurred in the Medalanda area on the 16th, where a group of individuals was seen attacking the woman on a public roadway.
According to the police, the suspects had initially fled the area but were later apprehended on Sunday (19) after an investigation by Gokarella Police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the assault stemmed from a dispute among a group of relatives.
The victim was admitted to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged after recovering from her injuries.
