Former Member of Parliament Premalal Jayasekara, who was arrested following a complaint over an alleged firearm threat, has been released on bail by the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court.
The court granted him bail with a surety of Rs. 1 million and a cash bail of Rs. 25,000.
Reports state Jayasekara was taken into custody after Police received a complaint that, during a visit to Nuwara Eliya with his family yesterday (21), he had displayed his pistol and threatened an individual during a dispute between two groups. (Newswire)
