Police have launched an investigation into a fire that broke out at the Kalutara Regional Office of the Inland Revenue Department(IRD).
Commissioner General of Inland Revenue Rukdevi Fernando said the fire occurred on Thursday (30) night and did not cause any damage or disruption to tax data systems.
She said steps are being taken to restore normal operations, including re-establishing system connectivity through remote access.
Fernando also said that individuals requiring urgent services from the Kalutara Regional Office can visit the nearest regional office or the department’s head office until normal operations resume. (Newswire)
