The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) is set to announce the decision on the special electricity tariff revision for 2026 today (09), following a request based on rising fuel costs and higher power generation expenses.
National System Operator (Pvt) Ltd recently submitted the revised second-quarter electricity generation cost estimate to the PUCSL.
The PUCSL said losses linked to inferior coal will not be included in the tariff. Earlier, the commission approved a tariff increase of 8% to 14.4% for the second quarter of 2026, effective from April 1. (Newswire)
