
A low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka is expected to maintain prevailing showery conditions across the island over the next few days.
Showers or thundershowers are forecast at most places after 1.00 p.m.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at some locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western and North-Central provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara and Mannar districts.
Morning showers are also expected in the Western, Southern and Northern provinces.
In sea areas around the island, showers or thundershowers are expected at times.
Winds will be south-westerly or variable in direction, with speeds of 25-35 kmph.
Sea conditions around the island are expected to be slight to moderate. However, temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas may occur during thundershowers.
