A prisoner convicted in the murder case of former Member of Parliment (MP) Amarakeerthi Athukorala has died after falling from a building inside Welikada Prison, prison sources said.
Authorities said the inmate sustained critical injuries after the fall and was admitted to hospital for treatment.
However, he later succumbed to his injuries, according to prison sources. (Newswire)
