
Minister of Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa will depart for the Maldives tomorrow (12) to participate in the 21st Asian Media Summit, which began today on Lankanfinolhu Island, North of Male.
The summit, running until May 14, brings together policymakers, media institution owners, professionals, communication researchers, and observers from across Asia.
In addition to Maldivian government representatives, participants include Bangladesh’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, the Secretary General of BIMSTEC, the Secretary General of SAARC, and Timor’s State Secretary for Social Communication, among other regional leaders.
According to the Department of Government Information, Minister Jayatissa is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the fourth session of the summit.
His speech will focus on media policy, public information dissemination, professionalism in journalism, and communication responsibilities in serving public needs. (Newswire)
