Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has thanked Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for congratulating him on being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
In a message posted on X, Vijay said he was “deeply honored” by the wishes extended by the Sri Lankan President and thanked him for the “gracious gesture.”
President Dissanayake, in his congratulatory message, highlighted the long-standing historical, cultural and people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu.
“Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu are connected through history, culture, enterprise, and enduring people-to-people ties across generations,” the President said.
He further noted that the future holds “immense economic promise and opportunity” as Sri Lanka and India continue to strengthen bilateral ties and partnership.
President Dissanayake also expressed hope to work together towards “greater prosperity and progress” while wishing Vijay and the people of Tamil Nadu success. (Newswire)
