The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has informed the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court, on Thursday (15) that no CCTV recordings were available from the house where former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kapila Chandrasena was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
Officials attached to the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) informed court that although the CCTV camera system at the residence was operational, investigations revealed that footage was not being stored in the system.
Police said no usable footage connected to the house had therefore been recovered for the investigation. However, investigators have obtained CCTV footage from two nearby houses covering the period from May 6 to May 8, including front and side-angle recordings relevant to the inquiry.
The details emerged during the second day of the magistrate’s inquiry into Chandrasena’s death before Colombo Fort Magistrate. (Newswire)
