Provincial Council elections will be held within this year, Science and Technology Minister Chrishantha Abeysena said on Friday (15).
Speaking at a public event in Kandy, he said the government had to face more urgent challenges including the Ditwah cyclone. The minister said there was no plan to delay the polls, although he did not specify when the election would be conducted.
“There will be a Provincial Council election within this year. There is no need to worry about it being delayed,” Abeysena said. (Newswire)
